Thoreau told us that each person can interpret another's experience only by his own. The
pond reflects a day of blue skies, but when the sky is misty and gray, so does the pond. The same
pond reflects different conditions. And so it is with us.
Trouble begins when we cannot interpret our own reflection -- often, because we don't want to.
What is showing may be a totally different thing from all that we have ever experienced. Every action
or reaction does not personally apply to us, but we are in danger of believing it does.
Give others room. Understand as far as possible and refuse to be indifferent or uncaring. They
are reflecting the way the pond reflects. Time changes us all -- do be patient.
